WHAT IS THE FYLDE COAST APPRENTICESHIP NETWORK?

The Fylde Coast Apprenticeship Network was set up in order to provide impartial information to those actively looking to undertake a manufacturing apprenticeship, here on the Fylde Coast. We provide free of charge advice and guidance to individuals, schools, colleges and businesses. By establishing stronger connections and engagement, we aim to enhance access to high quality opportunities within the area.

WHO WE ARE

My name is Tom and I am proud to have lived on the Fylde Coast my whole life. When I was 18, I embarked on an Advanced Apprenticeship in Manufacturing Engineering at a plastics company in Blackpool. I look back very fondly on those 4 years as an apprentice and am incredibly grateful for the learning opportunities, experiences and skills that it offered.

During the last 2 years, I have been heavily involved in the creation of an apprenticeship scheme for a large chemical company in Thornton-Cleveleys. During this time, I realised little attention is currently given to showcasing the benefits of undertaking a manufacturing apprenticeship.

I have created the Fylde Coast Apprenticeship Network in order to connect the gaps between individuals, schools, colleges and businesses. I hope that via this central hub for manufacturing apprenticeships on the Fylde Coast, more people can find and benefit from local opportunities available.
